2022 W $25 PALLADIUM EAGLES HIGH RELIEF NGC REVERSE PROOF 70

The 2022 American Palladium Eagle marks the sixth year of issue of the popular high relief U.S. Mint series. Introduced in 2017, the series has cycled through differing finishes, which include uncirculated, proof and reverse proof. The 2022 dated release represents the second time the coin has been issued with a reverse proof finish. The design for the series has remained constant, featuring imagery created for an early 20th century coin and medal by acclaimed medallic sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.

Timeless Historic Imagery

Obverse: Lady Liberty appears on the obverse as a young woman wearing a winged Phrygian cap. The image is borrowed from the obverse of the 1916 Mercury Dime. The portrait is surrounded by the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "2022," Mr. Weinman's "AW" monogram and the West Point Mint mark "W."

Reverse: The reverse design is a replica of the image created for the 1907 American Institute of Architects (AIA) gold medal. A majestic eagle is depicted perched at the pinnacle of a mountain, with a branch of laurel in its beak. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "$25," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1 OZ. PD .9995 FINE."
